Keeping up with the advance of technology is paramount and furthers our continuous aim to provide high end photography for our clients. Claris has invested in a medium camera format and lenses from 25 to 300 mm. We chose the famous award-winning new Pentax Z (TIPA AWARDS 2015: Best MF camera). The size of the image (44 x 33mm CEMOS sensor - 8256 x 6192 pixels pixels!) is a very important factor in professional photography: the larger the image size, the more faithfully the ambience and sense of depth can be described, resulting in colour-rich, fine-detailed images... associated with exeptional softness of gradients.
To ensure maximum security during the shooting sessions, we always keep a second camera (especially in case of accidental fall or immersion ...) for this, we always bring a Pentax 645 D as spare camera (TIPA AWARDS 2011 : Best D-SLR Professional camera, Camera Grand Prix 2011 "Camera of the Year" (Tokyo June 1st, 2011), EISA : Meilleur Reflex Professionnel 2011-2012.)
For our customers, nothing is impossible! “The most important thing is that they are happy with the result.” Nicolas Claris is one of the few photographers who go to sign each sheet at the printers to make sure that the picture is the correct one... Only he knows that the spinnaker is missing 2% of red... To publish the 80-page, 72 x 50 cm book (1100 copies) on the three years of building the exceptional sailing yacht CNB 100 Chrisco, Nicolas Claris worked with Print System in Bordeaux.
The book "CNB 100 Chrisco, the making of" which comes in a hand-made leather-look case won the 3rd "Agency" prize at the 8th night of the “Chef de FAB” 2011. The film “Making of the making of CNB 100 Chrisco” follows all the stages of the making, from the shoots to the layout by Marine Claris and the signing off on the final proof...
The camera manufacturer Sinar decided in 2008 to work closely with Nicolas Claris and asked him to capture movement, speed, action, emotion and energy with their new medium format camera Hy6 (Digital back Sinarback eMotion 75 LV - 33 million pixels and Sinar lenses from 50 to 180 mm).
These 4 making ofs (Hotel Marqués de Riscal - the Luxury Collection, Shooting the Bordeaux 60 in Saint-Tropez, Shooting the Metaphor 68 in Istanbul, Uneek) were shown on Sinar’s stand at Photokina 2008.
